What are overnight oats?
At their most basic, overnight oats are raw rolled oats that are combined with a liquid—mostly milk or alternatives like almond or coconut drink, or of course yogurt. They’re seasoned, sweetened, and mixed well, then left to soften in the fridge overnight. One of the first Overnight Oats, was the Bircher Muesli, which was developed around 1900 by Swiss physician Maximilian Bircher-Benner for patients in his hospital, it is now eaten as a standard breakfast dish and is one of the first dishes I learned to prepare during my apprenticeship. Always since, it’s well known for it’s nutritional benefits.
Oats in general are high in fiber, this is indigestible material found in foods. Studies show that fiber has various health benefits, including weight loss and improved digestive health. Additionally fiber is supporting the “positive bacteria” within your gut, this bacteria in easy words is burning more fat. Check also this recipe out.
Absolutely yes! Replace the honey with a vegan alternative, like for example coconut sugar and you are good to go.
If you are not as lucky as me in organizing strawberries, just replace the strawberries with a half ripe banana.
